When classifying bird nettings by their mesh yarns,
there are two categories; the monofilament bird net, and the multi-strand net.
Multi-strand nets have mesh made of multiple strands of yarn that are smooth and thick.
Typically, the mesh size of the fabric bird netting is about 10mm-25mm.
Compared with monofilament nets, the multi-strand yarn is less likely to entangle the bird’s feet, so it is difficult to trap them.
Even smaller birds, such as small sparrows, find it easier to break free, reducing their damage.
Of course, if an improperly installed net allows the birds to enter, they can still be trapped inside.
